The remains of Frank Barker, age 24, whose death at Aberdeen, Washington, was mentioned in last week's Wave, arrived here Monday morning coming by express and having ben on the way since the Tuesday night before. The body was turned over by Expressman Keith to Undertaker Weed who put it in readiness to the old home, in West Odessa. The funeral was held Tuesday at the methodist church here conducted by Dr. Flint of Clarksville and the burial was made in Lakeside cemetery. The cause of his death was given as spinal meningitis. He had not been feeling at all well the winter through but being of an uncomplaining nature his ailments had not been much noticed. With the approach of spring sunshine he apparently improved in health and at the time of his starting west seemed to be much like himself again. He was about ready to go to Alaska where Mr. Ralph Peer had a job in waiting for him, when he was take half sick again. He did not five up and go to bed at the hotel where he was staying until on Saturday the day before his death. Both the physician who treated him and the undertaker who prepared the body for shipment here were formerly from near here in Michigan, one in Charlotte, and they gave him every possible help and attention. The body arrived here in good shape. The express charges alone of sending a body from the coast here are twice that of the regular passenger fare or $132.40 in this case. The young men who acted as pall bearers were Clarence Marvin, Henry Norcutt, Earl Hager, Bert Long, Roy Eldried and Ray Lenhart, and honorary bearers were Misses Vertie Catt, Mable Blough, Florence Lepard and Arvilla Bower and the Mrs. Nora Dell-Tasker and Mrs. Erma Darby-Wickham.
