Mrs. Barker was born September 20, 1867, in Knox county, Ohio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Miller. When she was about twelve years of age the family came to Ionia county and settled in Easton township where she was married to John Barker, May 28, 1888. Only survivor is a nephew, Emory Bowen, of Easton township. Funeral service will be held at two o’clock, Thursday afternoon, from Myers Funeral home. Rev. A. R. Kuehn of the Evangelical church will officiate and burial will be in the family lot in Easton cemetery. The Barker family was among the very early settlers of Ionia county. The home where they lived is just a half mile from the grant made to John Barker’s father by the government, and is a part of the original farm grant. John Barker, who died in January, at the age of 93, worked for members of the Dexter colony.
