Dorothy A. Barker, 86, of Portland, passed away on March 29, 2007.  She was born
on Sept. 16, 1920 in Westphalia, the daughter of William and Anna (Bohr) May. 
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph in 1977; and
daughter, Rosemary Shinaver in 2001.  She is survived by her sons, Charles
Barker of Pewamo and Donald (Betty) Barker of Portland; grandchildren David
Shinaver, Joseph Barker, Karen Shinaver, and Jennifer (fiancee Ryan Van Solkema)
Barker; and siblings, Lorraine (Robert) Spitzley of Mulliken; Fred (Germaine)
May of Portland, Leon (Jeri) May of Portland, and Joan May.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 2 at St. Patrick Catholic Church
Portland; with Rev. Larry King presiding.  Rite of Committal followed at
Portland Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral
Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland.  Contributions may be made to the Ionia Area
Hospice in Dorothy’s name.
