Greg began learning mechanics working alongside his father at Duke Shell in Lansing. He then joined the Army, where he proudly served his country. He returned to Mechanics before becoming a hospice nurse, dedicating himself to providing comfort, care & compassion to those in their final stages of life. Greg loved to cook & host people, which led to his well-known Rock and Roll Saturday Nights, filled with music, joy & laughter. He enjoyed Trial Racing & had a passion for motorcycles. He had many hobbies, bowling, fishing, car rides & enthusiasm for sports. He enjoyed finding hidden gem, hole-in-the-wall restaurants to try. He felt most at home in the peaceful tranquility at the UP of Michigan. Survived y his daughters, Brenna(Dewey)Watkins of Ionia & Jennifer(Mike)Stephens of Newaygo; son-in-law Guy Read; his sisters Jeanne Barlow, Patty Gneiting, & Wendy(Bill)Elliot; his significant other,Phyllis Roland; & Phyllis's daughter Felicia & granddaughter Kennedy. He was the grandfather to Dane, Abby, Jordan, Sam, Ashton, Mylee, Kaelyn & PJ., His many nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers,Jeffery Barlow, Daniel Barlow & Giles Barlow; sister,Mary Barlow; brothers-in-law,Denny Greenho & Paul Gneiting;& the mother of his children, Dee Reeder. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday,December 6th, 2024 at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Memorial service to follow officiated by Mr.Ryan Green. Donations may be made to the family or to a hospice organization of your choosing.
