Barnaby, 74, 532 Bayard street, died Sunday about 8:30 p.m. in Ionia County Memorial hospital following admittance Sunday morning after an unexpected heart attack. Born in Kent county, March 19, 1896, he was a son of Horace T. and Mamie Ryno Barnaby. As owner and president of a trucking firm with operations in both Ionia and Grand Rapids, for the past eight years he made his home in Ionia. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Townsend Barnaby, whom he married in Grand Rapids in 1921; three sons, Eugene H. and James L. Barnaby of Grand Rapids, and David A. Barnaby of Oak Lawn, Ill.; three daughters, Birdice Morel of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Robert Cook of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. J.E. Allen of Charlotte; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his step-mother Mrs. Maude Davenport of Cascade; one brother, Alvin of Byron Center, and one sister, Mrs. Henry Fairchild of Grand Rapids. The body was taken to Eggebeen funeral home in Grand Rapids where services were described as incomplete.
