He had been confined to his home for the past two months. Mr. Barnard was born in Orange township September 27, 1850, and resided in that township until about 16 years ago when he moved to Portland where he remained until death. He married Miss Ida Kelly in 1877, who passed away 33 years ago. To this union were born seven children. In 1898 he married Miss Anna Barrett, who survives him. There were no children to this union. Besides the widow he is survived by four sons, Ole, at Elkhart, Indiana; Ernest and Ray, in Orange township; and Stanley, at St. Paul, Minnesota. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. D. A. Zacharian, Portland; Mrs. Oscar Bliss, at Lansing; Mrs. Almira Otto, at Ionia.
