The Lake Odessa Wave, Thursday, June 14, 1928


Last Friday Mrs. Mamie Griffin Barnard of Detroit gave birth to a little son.  
She had been having a light attack of the flu, double pneumonia set in and 
with the weakened effects of the disease all efforts of hospital physicians 
failed and she died Thursday morning.  Her father John Griffin of  this place 
and her brother Dale of Indianapolis were called to her bedside Sunday but she 
assured them she would get better and indeed did seem better but strength 
failed and end came as noted above.

The funeral will be held at the Central Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 
2 P.M. and burial will be at Lake Side.
