Ionia County News, 30 Mar 1950

Joseph R. Barnes, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Barnes, of south of 
Belding, died Tuesday of pneumonia.  He was born June 9, 1934 and had been an 
invalid all of his life.

Surviving, besides the parents, are the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. 
Harry Barnes of Grand Rapids; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest 
Benton of Belding; and two sisters, Rosalie and Nancy, and one brother, Norman 
at home.

Private funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon from Fitzjohn Funeral 
Home.  Rev. William Harrington of Greenville will officiate.  Burial will be in 
River Ridge Cemetery.
