Ionia County News, 12 Jan 1956

Mildred Barnes, 43, died Thursday, January 5, at 6:00 p.m. at Butterworth 
Hospital, Grand Rapids.  she was born May 23, 1912, near Smyrna, the daughter 
of George and Ada Barnes.  She was a member of the OES of Grattan and had been 
secretary of the Olympia Arbor of Gleaners for seven years.  Surviving are her 
mother, Mrs. Barnes, and a brother, Milton, of near Smyrna.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 9, at 2:00 p.m., at Alton Church 
with the Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding and the Rev. Elton Mills of Lowell 
officiating.  Burial was in Alton cemetery.
