Mrs. Martha K. Barnes, 58, formerly a resident of Portland, died at her home 
in Lansing on Wednesday night of last week.  She had been a resident of 
Lansing for 23 years and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas 
Wohlscheid, of Portland.

Funeral services were held at St. Therese Church in Lansing Saturday morning 
and burial was in Portland cemetery.

Surviving are the husband, Howard, also formerly of Portland; brothers, 
Anthony Wohlscheid, of Eagle, Sylvester, of Vermontville and Ferd of Portland; 
sisters, Mrs. Rose Barnes, of Portland, and Mrs. Anna Ewing, of DeWitt.

Bearers were Richard Oakes, Robert Howard, Richard Ewing, Frederick Ewing, 
Howard Wohlscheid and Charles Wohlscheid.  The deceased was a member of St. 
Therese Alter Society.  The Rosary was recited at Estes-Leadley funeral home 
Friday evening.
