     ERNEST E. BARNES
   Ernest E. Barnes, 75, RFD 1, Woodland, died Sunday at 12:15 a.m., at Pennock
Hospital, Hastings, where he had been a patient for about two weeks.
   A retired foreman of the Motor Wheel Corporation, at Lansing, he moved to his
home at Eagle Point, Jordan Lake, ten years ago.
   His wife, Martha, died three years ago in February.
   Mr. Barnes was a member of the Elk Lodge, at Ionia.
   He was born March 29, 1882 at Fairfield, Michigan, the son of James E. and Lomira
(Mother) Barnes.
   Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Bernice Hyatt, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one
brother, Pearl T. Barnes, of Detroit, and two nephews, Frank Wiley, of Detroit, and Howard Wiley 
of West Palm Beach, Florida.
   Funeral services were held Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m. at the Pickens Funeral Chapel,
with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.  Rev. Paul Robinson officiated.
