Lake Odessa Wave
     GEORGE BARNES DIED IN GRAND RAPIDS
   George E. barnes 64, of 6555 South Division, Grand Rapids, passed away
Thanksgiving morning at Blodgett Memorial Hospital after a two months illness.
   A former local resident, he and his wife, the former Nellie Hamp, moved to Grand
Rapids about ten years ago.  He was employed as custodian at the local school before going 
to Grand Rapids where he was employed by the Klingman Furniture Company which later was 
sold to VanDenBergs.  He continued his work until his illness.
   George was a native of Gratiot County and spent his early life near St. Louis.
   Surviving besides his wife are two brothers, nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held Saturday at one o'clock at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel
with graveside services at 3:15 p.m. at the Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa.
