The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 17, 1951
Frederick D. Barr, 52-year-old Belding farm, died Saturday less than 24 hours 
after flames destroyed his farm home northeast of Belding Friday night.  Barr 
was removed from his flaming home by neighbors who discovered the fire.  He 
was alone at home and was sleeping.  He was taken to the home of his son, Fred 
Jr., and then removed to the Belding city hospital where he died Saturday.  
Belding firemen said the home was destroyed by the first when they arrived.

Barr was born in Butler, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Belding area 
for 22 years.  He is survived by his wife and son Fred.  The body was removed 
to the Ellis funeral home in Belding.
