James D. Barr, 45, Portland real estate and insurance agent, died late Wednesday
night at his home in Portland following a heart attack. 

Funeral services are to be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Bandfield
funeral home with burial at Portland cemetery.

Survivors are his wife, Edna, five children, Janette, William, Jerry, George and
Mary, all at home; his mother, Mrs. John Kerr, of Detroit, and a sister, Mrs.
Edward Decker, of Germfask.

He was a member of F. & A.M. lodge No. 31, the DeWitt Clinton Consistory and the
Saladin Shrine, Grand Rapids.  He was born in Danby township.
