Ionia Standard, 10 Nov 1893

Mary, wife of Patrick Barrett, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday.  She had been in failing 
health for three or four years, her trouble finally developing in consumption; to 
which dread disease she is the third victim in her father’s family.  Her age was 
32, and she leaves two children, a boy of seven, and a girl of three, besides her 
husband, to mourn her early death.  She was a daughter of Michael Garrity of this 
city, had been a resident of Ionia for about eighteen years, and was well known 
and popular in social circles.
