Ionia Sentinel 23 January 1929
The body of John Barrett, of Detroit, will arrive in Ionia Thursday, according 
to a telegram received here Wednesday.  No plans for the burial were given in 
the message.

23 January 1929
The funeral services for John Barrett will be held from the Bradley funeral 
home Friday afternoon at 2:30.  These will be conducted by Rev. W. F. 
Boettcher.  The interment will be in the Highland Park cemetery beside his 
wife.  Mr. Barrett died in Detroit the first of the week.  He leaves two sons, 
Hamilton of Detroit, and Glenn of Grand Rapids.

January 1929
The funeral services for John Barrett, who died in Detroit the first of the 
week, were held from the Bradley funeral home Friday afternoon.  The services 
were in charge of Rev. W. Boettcher.  Ernest Franks, Bert Kanouse, Dennis West 
and Charles O’Neil served as bearers and Mrs. R. A. Colwell and Mrs. Thane 
Benedict sang several selections.  The body was taken to the Highland Park 
cemetery for burial.
