Death of T. S. Barringer
Was in Business in Ionia For More Than Twenty-Five Years.

The death of Theodore S. Barringer, one of Ionia’s oldest business men, occurred
about noon today at his residence, corner of Rice street and Lincoln avenue. 
Mr. Barringer has been ill about three weeks, having been down town about that
time.  He was about 80 years of age and came to Ionia from Jackson many years
ago.  For many years he was in the agricultural implement business on North
Third street, where he conducted his business in a methodical and successful
manner.  He was thoroughly honest in all his dealings and was a valued member of
the community.

Mr. Barringer was born in Herkimer, N.Y., in 1836, May 8.  He was connected with
the business interests of Ionia for more than 25 years.  Besides the widow there
survive him one son, H.P. Barringer, of Iron Mountain, Montana; one daughter,
Mrs. Burr Crawford, of Jackson, and one sister of Illon?, N.Y.

The funeral announcement will be made tomorrow.
