George R. Barry, 82-year-old Civil war veteran, at his home in Lyons, just a week from the time of the passing of his wife, Mrs. Mary Barry, from the same malady. Funeral services will be held from the residence Thursday afternoon at 1:30, with Rev. A.T. Halsted of the Lyons Methodist church officiating. The remains will be taken to St. Johns for interment. Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Eavey, of Lyons, and Mrs. Edith Ridenour, of Gaines, a sister of Mrs. Barry. Captain Barry, who saw service with Company M, of the Seventh Regiment of Michigan cavalry, was born in St. Lawrence county, New York. For many years he and Mrs. Barry resided near Maple Rapids, coming to Lyons about five years ago.
