Assisted by Rev. A. J. Blair, Miss Flossie Spicer, Mrs. Bernie Strunk and Mrs. M. L. Berry, the services were conducted by the local Masonic lodge. A goodly number of brothers attended to pay their last tribute to their friend of many years. Saturday morning the body was transferred to Lake Odessa for burial. Following is the obituary as ready by Rev. Blair at the services Friday afternoon: Robert F. Barry, son of John and Olive Barry, was born in Sebewa, January 7, 1857, and was 58 years of age. He was married to Al. Downing at the age of twenty-one years. To this union were born three children, two of whom died in infancy. The eldest one, Olive Insley, who lives in Smyrna, is left to cheer and comfort the lonely mother. Robert Barry came to Smyrna in 1893 and had charge of the Spencer Electric Light and Power Co.’s plant ever since its organization. He was a member of Belding lodge N. 355 F.& A.M., record keeper of Smyrna tent, director on the school board, and a member of Sebewa I.O.O.F. at the time of his death. He leaves, besides the wife and daughter, three brothers, James of West Sebewa, Garrett of Logansport, Indiana, and his twin brother, Richard of Saranac; also, two sisters, Nettie Sherwood of Stanton and Hattie Lanning of Marion, Indiana, an aged mother, Mrs. Olive Winslow and two grandchildren, Clifford and Howard Insley and; also, an adopted son Marvin Nash of Lowell. He was ready to help anyone in time of trouble. Certainly one good man is gone.
