The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Eugene C. Bartels, of Orleans, age 56, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 
2009. He was born on March 7, 1952 in Ionia County, MI the son of Eugene H. 
and Clara (Cupps) Bartels. He was preceded in death by his parents; Surviving 
are his very special friend, Jerry Brown; brothers, Joe Bartels of Ionia and 
Tom Bartels of Yuma, Arizona; sister, Betty Bartels of Texas; several nieces, 
nephews, and cousins. A Family and Friends gathering will take place at 11 am 
Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich 
Street, Ionia. Interment will take place later at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 
Ionia. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the needs of 
the family.
