MANTON BARTELS DIED TUES.
Manton M. Bartels, 84, died Tuesday evening at the home of his son Mr an Mrs 
Arthur J. Bartels here, after an illness of several months, having been brought 
here by his son by plane from California in May. He first came to Lake Odessa in 
1941 from Davenport, Ia., and assisted at the Bartels Boat Livery for several 
years before taking up work in the west about two years ago.

He was a life member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge at Davenport. He is 
survived by the one son.

Mr. Bartels reposes at the Pickens Funeral Chapel where services will be held 
Friday afternoon at 2, the Rev. Victor W.Thrall officiating and burial will be 
in Lakeside cemetery.
