Mr. Bartholomew was for many years a resident of Palo and a man of high standing commanding the respect of all who knew him. He was a member of the M.E. Church always ready to do his part of the work in all its branches, and for many years a member of the choir. After years of earnest toil as a painter and decorator on account of poor health, with the aid of his eldest son, he went into business and while he had made several changes at the time of his death he was conducting a furniture business. He leaves besides a devoted wife, two sons, Vernon of Kalamazoo and Harry of Grand Rapids, one brother, three sisters, many distant relatives and a host of friends to mourn his loss. The funeral was held from the Baptist church Thursday at 2 o'clock and laid to rest in the family lot in the Palo cemetery.
