Fighting a fire in his trailer home at Sheridan proved fatal Tuesday to Charley
L. Bartlett, 68, retired Ionia Manufacturing Company employee who died of a
heart attack.

Born in Orange township, Ionia county, Bartlett was a veteran of World War I. 
He had lived in Evergreen township, Montcalm county, most of his life.

Surviving are his wife, Bernice, a daughter Rebecca Bartlett, Crystal; six sons,
Charles E. of Stanton, and Phillip, Kenneth, Steven, Rodney and Stanley, all at
home; three sisters and one grandchild.

Funeral services are to be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Stebbins funeral
home at Sheridan.  Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery.
