Shirley Bartlett age, 94, of Hart, MI, formerly of Saranac passed away January 
1, 2014.  She was born March 15, 1919 in Easton Twp., the daughter of Clarence 
and Pearl Rogers.  Shirley married Maynard Bartlett August 14, 1937 in 
Saranac.  He preceded her in death February 14, 2002. 

She was a librarian at Saranac Public Library for many years.  She was a member 
of Firemans Auxiliary for 30 years and a member of Eastern Star where she was a 
past Matron.

Shirley is survived by her children, Dan Bartlett of Grand Rapids, Michael 
Bartlett of Reno, NV, Susan (Marc) DeMaat of Mears, John (Tonie) Bartlett of 
Antioch, CA, Melissa (Mitchell) Vroman of Saranac and Ellen (Michael) DeYoung 
of Rockford; sisters in law, Carol Brooks of Grand Rapids and Thela Conner of 
Comstock Park, sixteen grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.  She was 
preceded in death by one brother, William and one sister, Vivian Chickering. 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Lake Funeral Home 
in Saranac with Pastor Ken VanderLaan officiating. Visitation Friday 4-7 p.m. 
at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Saranac Public 
Library or Harbor Hospice.
