Feb. 23, 1970 LYLE BARTLETT LAKE ODESSA-Funeral services for Lyle Bartlett, 39, former resident of Lake Odessa were Monday at 2 pm at United Methodist church at Vicksburg. Rev. Myron Williams and Rev. George Schreckengost officiated and interment was at Vicksburg cemetery. Mr.Bartlett, a Vickburg high school teacher and coach, was stricken and died Friday evening while refereeing a junior varsity basketball game. He was born in Lake Odessa, the son of Homer and Opal Van Houten Bartlett. He was a graduate of Lake Odessa high school, receiving his BS degree at Western Michigan University at Kalamazoo and his MA degree at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He joined the Vicksburg school faculty in 1957 and was head of practice training program in the high school, also had served as freshman football and varsity tennis coach. He previously had served as head basketball coach. He was also choir director and member of United Methodist church of Vicksburg. July 24, 1954 he was married to Louise Hoff of Lake Odessa. Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Alan, Brian and Mark and a daughter, Cathy, all at home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Bartlett of Lake Odessa; three brothers, Rodger of Minneapolis, Minn., Gerald and Dale of East Lansing; sister, Mrs. George Schreckengost of Cleveland, Ohio.
