GEO. BARTLETT DIES SUDDENLY --------------- Stricken With Apoplexy While Caring for Her Daughter, Mrs. Wm. Brooks, Sunday evening. ---------------- Death came suddenly to Mrs. George Bartlett of Berlin township, Sunday evening, while caring for her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Brooks, at the latter's home here she was stricken with apoplexy. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church at two o'clock. Rev. A. B. Johnson, an old time friend and pastor, officiating. The Boy Scouts attended in a body, her son, Homer, being one of their members. Interment was in Lakeside cemetery. Emma A. Sharp was born near Richland, Kalamazoo county, Michigan on August 31, 1873. Her childhood and youth were spent in the south and west portion of the state. On the 13th of February, 1889, she was married to George Bartlett, who remains to mourn her untimely departure. To this union were born six children, four of whom are still living and are here today. The others preceded their mother to the better land. Thirteen years ago she gave her heart to God at a service held at the Welcome church on the Hastings circuit. Soon after she became a member of that church and has since lived a faithful christian life. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Brooks in this village (Lake Odessa) on Sunday evening, April 22, 1917.
