The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, February 19, 1954
Funeral services for William Barton who died Sunday, February 14, at the Ionia 
Convalescent Home, were conducted from Fales-Huffman funeral chapel in 
Belding, Wednesday at 1 o’clock.  The Rev. Wilbur Kirby; pastor of the Belding 
Church of God, officiated.  

He was born in Hamilton township, Gratiot county, November 27, 1866, the son 
of Samuel and Catherine Barton.  In 1905 he was married to Asebia Sage of 
Ionia who preceded him in death in 1926.  He had been a resident of Orleans 
for the past 15 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Forrest (Catherine) Sage, Orleans, two 
sons, Lawrence of Mason and Edwin of Davison and ten grandchildren.

Interment was in Hamilton cemetery, Gratiot County.
