Lake Odessa Wave-Thursday April 13, 1961

Loren T. Bassett Died April 5th
Loren T. Bassett,, 84, passed away at midnight, Wednesday April 5, at the Mason 
hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks.

He had been a resident of the local area about 35 years and was born in Barry 
county, near Middleville. He married Jessie Kidder 57 years ago in Barry county
and she passed away 6 years ago last December. He had lived at Leslie since last 
August.

Mr. Bassett was a member of the Calvary United Brethren Church, Lake Odessa.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs.Christina Howe of Leslie and Mrs.Beatrice 
Strong of Lake Odessa, one son LeRoy of Nashville, 8 grandchildren. and 12 
great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday at 1:30 at the Pickens funeral Chapel, 
with burial in the Lakeside cemetery. Rev. Mae Custer officiated.
