The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, July 16, 1962

Claude E. Batdorff, 76, of 210 East Washington street died Saturday evening at 
Ionia County Memorial hospital where he was admitted earlier in the day.  Born 
in Ionia county May 19, 1886, he was the son of Eli and Latheria Batdorff, and 
was married to Ella Oosting who died in 1952.

From 1911 to 1928 Mr. Batdorff was head salesman of the M. Piowath and Sons of 
Chicago, Ill., and lived in Burton Heights.  He was in business for himself 
from 1928 until his retirement in 1952 and returned to Ionia in 1955.  He 
previously was a real estate salesman in Grand Rapids and worked in a store in 
Ionia and north on M66.

He was a member of Christian Reformed church of Grand Rapids.  

Survivors include a brother, Frank Sault, and several nieces and nephews.
