Lake  Odessa Wave-Thursday July 19, 1962

Claude Batdorff Died Saturday
Claude E. Batdorff, ages 74, died at the ionia County Memorial hospital Saturday 
morning.

He was born in Odessa Township, May 19, 1886, the son of Eli and Latheria 
Batdorff. He was married to Ella Oosting who died 1952. From 1911 to 1928 he was 
head salesman for M. Prowatti and Sons Produce Co. in Chicago. In 1928 he 
established his own business and retired in 1959. He formerly lived in Grand 
Rapids where he was a member of the central Reform Church.

Surviving is a brother Frank of Sault St. Marie, also several nieces and 
nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 at the Stone Kauffman Funeral Home, 
Ionia.
