Excerpts from Lansing Online Obituary
ARTHUR W. BATES of Woodland
Retired farmer died Friday March 5, at a Lansing hospital.
He has been a Woodland resident since 1918, 
World War I Veteran & member of Lakeside Barracks of WW I Veterans.
Member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, it's Men's Brotherhood; the Farm 
Bureau & Senior Citizens of both Woodland & Lake Odessa.
Surviving are his wife, Lenna; three daughters, Mrs Galen Wortley of East 
Lansing, Mrs Patrick Bickert & Mrs Charles Richard of Lansing; seven 
grandchildren; two brothers, Ervin of Lake Odessa & Phoenix, and Floyd of 
Phoenix; a sister, Mrs Forrest Dorsey of Phoenix.
Services Monday at 1:30 at Pickens Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa.
Burial at Woodland Memorial Park.
