The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, January 17, 1939
The ashes of Mary Josephine Bates reached Ionia Tuesday and will be interred 
at the Highland Park cemetery Wednesday in the family lot of Andrew Jackson, 
Mrs. Bates’ father.  Mrs. Bates died November 21 in Pasadena, California where 
she had made her home.  Funeral services were held in Pasadena November 24, 
and there will be no service for the private interment here.
