Daily Sentinel-Standard - Thursday, May 13, 1943

Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph Bates of Battle Creek, formerly of LeValley 
district, were held from the LeValley church Thursday afternoon at 3 
o'clock. 

Officiating was Rev. William Jarrer. Burial was at the Mattawan cemetery. 
Mrs. Bates died earlier in the week in Battle Creek. Her husband, Rev. Ralph 
Bates, former LeValley church pastor, attended the service after returning 
tom an army camp in Virginia where he is a chaplain.

Pallbearers were Sterrey Stout, Webster Linebaugh, Robert Wolverton, Wayne 
Sprague, Morris Benedict and Elmer Benedict.
