Saturday evening, on the night of her fifteenth birthday anniversary, Miss Dorothy Batson, daughter of Mrs. Mary Batson, 161 East Main Street, who had been ill for many weeks, was taken much worse, and her death occurred late Monday afternoon. Thirteen weeks ago Tuesday she was forced to give up her school work as a student in the ninth grade of the junior high school. Death was caused by Brights disease. During her long illness she had been a patient sufferer, never complaining, and always looking on the bright side of life. During part of her illness Dorothy received part of her treatment at the Greenville Hospital. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Sunday school. Besides her mother she is survived by three brothers, Otto Batson, George Batson, and William Batson. Her father died from injuries received in an automobile accident a number of years ago. Another brother died at the same time. The funeral will be held from the residence, 161 East Main Street, Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. W.F. Kendrick will conduct the service.
