Floyd Junior Battle, age 76, of Ionia passed away April 17, 2007 in Ionia.  He 
was born March 24, 1931 the son of William and Florence (Gerren) Battle. Floyd 
worked at General Tire in Ionia for 33 years.  He loved fishing, hunting, 
woodworking and puttering in his garden.  He was an avid motorcyclist in his 
earlier years.

Floyd is survived by his children; Floyd Colon and LuAnn Battle of Ionia, 
Cheryl and Michael O’Connor of Portland, Daryl and Stephanie Battle of Ionia, 
Diana and Ken Fillwock of Williamston; sister Catherine Marie Smith of Clare; 
special friend Betty Shangle of Rockford; 5 grandchildren, 5 great 
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his 
parents; brothers, William, John and James; sisters, Lana Gibis and Francis 
Leiter.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia 
with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Woodard Lake Cemetery.  The 
family will receive friends and relatives Sunday 4-7 PM at the funeral home.  
Memorial contributions in Floyd’s name may be made to Veterans Home in Grand 
Rapids.
