The death of Mrs. Daniel F. Baty occurred at the late home in this city 
Friday, October 31st, after a sickness of about three months.  She with her 
family became residents here in 1892 and she was a most excellent and highly 
respected lady having very many friends.

She was born in New Baltimore, Mich., June 10th, 1858, the daughter of Amos 
and Emily VanHorn and was married to Daniel F. Baty in 1875.  

The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon, Rev. P. Ray Norton 
officiating and the interment was made in the River Ridge cemetery.  She 
leaves, besides her husband, two sons Charles and Stephen Baty of Grand 
Rapids, a sister, Mrs. Parke Sipperly, of Rochester, Mich., and two brothers, 
Horace and Warren Van Horn of Washington, Mich.
