Norman A. “Norm” Batzer, 65, of Belding, died peacefully Thursday evening, Jan.
22, 2009, at Metron of Belding Nursing Home with family and friends by his side.
 Norm was born Nov. 28, 1943, in Cadillac, the son of William and Lenori Batzer.

He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Norm
was a fun-loving husband, father and grandfather.  He enjoyed gardening and
spent many weekends supporting the Belding High School wrestling team.  For many
years Norm and his wife, Marilyn, volunteered at the Belding Football Camp. 

He is survived by his son, Jeff Batzer of Belding; two grandchildren and their
mother, Brad, Haylee and Patti; sister, Esther Ramsay of Traverse City,
sister-in-law, Gloria Batzer of Traverse City; brothers-in-law, Jerry Breimayer,
Gary Breimayer, Wayne and Nancy Breimayer, all of Belding; and many nieces,
nephews and loving friends.    Norm was preceded in death by his parents; wife,
Marilyn on Aug. 7, 2008; and five brothers, Richard, William, Douglas, Daniel
and Leo.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. today at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding,
with Pastor Byron Davey officiating.  Interment is in St. Mary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Batzer Scholarship Fund with Belding
Area Schools.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
