Around age 12, Todd began attending church; becoming involved in the ministry there When he was 14, Todd felt a call from the Lord to preach the Gospel, which was not answered then, but was also not forgotten. In the Fall of 1976, Todd began attending Swartz Creek Church of the Nazarene after getting acquainted with a lady by the name of Sandy, who he later married on June 18,1977. His call to the ministry was renewed in the years to follow, and this time he accepted.
