Mrs. Bauer, whose maiden name was Mable Hill, was born in Orleans Township twenty-eight years ago. During her girlhood she attended the Portland high school, graduating with the class of 1913. On August 12, 1916 she was united in marriage to Mr. Bauer. Besides the mother and husband, three small children survive, Jack, age five years, Edith age two and one-half year and Georgia, age four months. One brother and one sister also survive, Jack Hill of Portland and Mrs. J. George Koelzer of Ionia. She was commander of the local Maccabees as well as a member of the American Legion auxiliary and Christian Mothers of the Catholic church. The funeral was held from St. Patrick’s church, this morning at nine o’clock, in charge of Rev. Fr. O’Rourke. Interment was made in Portland cemetery.
