Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Fri. Nov. 23, 1979


IONIA- L. Thurman Bauman, 71, if 627 Lawton St., died Nov. 22 in Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1908, in Pittsburgh, the son of John 
and Ada Stewart Bauman.

He attended school and lived  most of his life in Pittsburgh. He was  married 
to Charlotte J. Potts on May 26, 1938, at St. Patrick's Church in Pittsburgh. 
They moved to Ionia in 1965.

Mr. Bauman was a member of St. Mary's Church in Greentree, Pa., and employed as 
a carpet layer by Gimbels Department Store in Pittsburgh. 

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, of Ionia; two sisters, Cecil Werner and 
Barbara Evans, both of Ionia; and five grandchildren.

Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church 
with the Rev. Henry Dondzila officiating. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery. 
Prayer service will be held in Leddick Funeral Home at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
