William Pixley, and the Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding. The Palo Masonic lodge of which he was a member attended in a group. Mr. Baxter was born and lived most of his life in the Palo community. Had he lived until Dec. 13, he and his wife would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, three grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. The music was furnished by Mrs. M. L. Stearns and Mrs. George Tasker. Bearers were Kenneth Staines, Jay VanNornum, Eldon Kendall, Millard Stedman, Ellis Bignell and Clare Wright. Burial was in Palo cemetery. Those from away at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn White, Mr. and Mrs. Donald McMullen and Willard Minier of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hopp, Mrs. Joseph Hadler, and Mrs. Blanche Malone of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Minier, Mrs. Marion Moore, Mrs. Tony Joseph and Mrs. Gary Younglove of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Minier of Lyons; Mrs. Jennie Howard of Belding; Forest Trowbridge of Stanton and Mrs. Kenneth Martin of Muir.
