Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Fri., November 28 1947
Ernest H. Baxter of Palo died at 8 o'clock Thanksgiving morning at Sheridan 
hospital.

He was born in Ionia township the son of the late Mr and Mrs Fred H. Baxter of 
Ronald. He lived most of his life in Palo where he farmed. He served as a 
captain in the U.S. army in World War I. He received his discharge 11 moths 
after the war ended.  Baxter was also a 32nd degree Mason in a Chicago lodge.

His sole survivor is he wife Leone.

Private services will be conducted from Myers funeral home Saturday  morning at 
10 o'clock. Please omit the flowers. The Rev. A.J. Westmaas will officiate. The 
body will be removed to Detroit the first of the week for cremation. The ashes 
will be interred in Palo cemetery.
