Marvin H. Baxter, son of Hiram Baxter, of Ionia township, died at his home in 
Ionia city Sunday night, aged 47 years.  A few weeks ago he attended a cock 
fight in Ronald, and in a fracas that ensued he had a leg and two ribs 
broken.  His death resulted from these injuries.  Some of the most influential 
men in Ionia were in the fight when Baxter sustained his injuries, and the 
man’s death is said to be causing no little uneasiness.
