Bernard A. Baxter, age 89, of Ionia passed away Nov. 18, 2015, in Carson City. 
He was born May 25, 1926.  Bernard married Virginia Johnson, Oct. 25, 1969, in
Ionia.  She preceded him in death in 2000.  He loved to deer hunt.  He was a
great father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.  He shared many
memories and stories with family and friends.  Bernard will be truly be missed.

Bernard is survived by his children, Jim (Carol) Tower of Newaygo, Larry (Linda)
Tower of Portland, Shirley (Russ) McGinn of Ionia, Terry Tower of Belding and
Linda (Scott) Nash of Lyons; grandchildren, Carrie (Brent) Denny; Angie Sprank,
Chris Tower, Mike Tower, Andy (Jennifer) Tower, Andrea (Al) Conarton, Kayla
(Adam) Lewis and Brenda (Randy) Velding; sister, Yvonne DeHart of Carson City
and several great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents;
brothers, Rod, Glenard and Sanford; and sisters, Viva, Juanita and Neva.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Lake Funeral Home in
Ionia with Pastor Ray Sundel officiating.  Interment Crystal Cemetery. 
Visitation will be Saturday 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
