Ionia Sentinel Standard, 22 Dec 1999

Saranac – Age 57, passed away December 21, 1999 in Grand Rapids.  He was born 
January 14, 1942 in Middleton, MI to Ervin and Doris (Kuhns) Kaylis.  He 
graduated from Ionia High School in 1959.  He married Debra Fraser January 13, 
1984 in Howell, MI.  Besides his wife, he is survived by 6 children, John 
(Sheila) Baylis of Brighton, Mark (Ann) Baylis of Howell, Daniel (Kelly) Baylis 
of Fowlerville, Tiffany Mitchell of Lowell, Andrew Baylis of Orleans, Leif 
Frederick of Orleans; 3 brothers, Lloyd (JoAnn) Baylis of Belding, Richard 
(Gloria) Baylis of Detour and Tom (Judy) Baylis of Ionia; 3 sisters, Evelyn 
Sherwood of Belding, Betty (Ronald) Vining of Kalamazoo and Diana (Vern) Rowley 
of Ionia; and 14 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dale 
and Jack.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 1999 at 11 a.m. 
at Shiloh Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Interment in 
Saranac Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday 
at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m.  Anyone wishing 
may make contributions to Ionia Area Hospice or the Saranac Fire Dept.
