Sandra L. Bayne
Portland - Sandra Lee Bayne, age 80, of Portland, passed away Monday August 6, 2018.

She was born March 5, 1938 in Jackson, Mich., the daughter of Leo F. and Margaret
M. (Burnett) Zimmer. Sandra belonged to the VFW Auxiliary Portland #4090, Disabled 
American Veterans, Florida, and Beta Sigma Phi at Large. She was also a loving
foster care mother to many children.

Preceding Sandra in death are her parents; husband, Vernon L. Bayne; brothers, Leo
F. Zimmer, Jr., David Peets, and Thomas Peets; sisters, Barbara Jean Zimmer, Judy
Blood, and Lynne Chaney. Sandra is survived by her children, Dixie (Doug) Lefke and Albert
(Diane) Novotny; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild;
siblings, Nita Hughes, Patricia Amato, and Michael (Pricilla ) Nearing.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 11 :00 a. m.,
Thursday, August 9, 2018 at St.Patrick's Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will
follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lansing, The family will receive friends on Wednesday fro 4-7 p.m
at the Lehman funeral home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland and on the hour prior to the
service on Thursday at the church.
