A six-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beach, of Battle Creek, met death in a peculiar manner at the home of Alonzo Evans, in Sebewa township, Saturday morning. Mrs. Beach, who was formerly employed at the Evans home, had been visiting there for several days, being accompanied by her husband and children. All were in apparent good health when members of the household retired Friday evening, but when Mrs. Evans, who was sleeping with two of her children, awoke early Saturday morning, the younger child was gasping for breath and died within a few moments. All attempts to revive the child were unavailable, and it is believed suffocation was the cause of death. The little tot’s remains were laid to rest in the Danby township cemetery Monday. [Transcriber’s Note: I have transcribed this obituary as it was printed in the newspaper. However, there is a note on the obituary card that the child was a son, citing Ionia County death record #C-129.] File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/b/beach11825nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
