Mr. Beach was born in the state of Ohio, 1826, and at the time of his death was in his 59th year. At the tender age of twenty, when boyhood is blossoming into manhood, our friend cast his fortune in the wilderness of Michigan, and in 1845 he settled in Orleans, where he continued to reside until he died. Mr. Beach was an acknowledged member of the United Brethren church an was highly respected for those noble and generous impulses which mark the man and the Christian gentleman, and all accorded to him not only the merit of the strictest integrity, but also the disposition to do kindly services to all, more especially to the lowly and the destitute, and as we bear the remains of our friend to the silent city of the dead, and there with the impressive ceremonies of his funeral service, tenderly and tearfully laid then down to the deep, still slumbers of the tomb.
