Funeral services were to be held this afternoon from the Banner Grange hall with the Grange in charge for Justus Beadle, 87, former pioneer resident of Orleans township who died Sunday night at the home of his son Asa Beadle in Northern Michigan. Mr. Beadle was a resident of Orleans township for more than 50 years prior to his retirement. He was especially active in Grange work during his residence there and in recognition of the service he gave to the organization the Grange members asked permission to take charge of the services. He also was a member of the Ionia lodge of Oddfellows and a group of members planned to attend the services. As a farmer he was widely known in the community being thrifty and successful and bearing a splendid reputation for fair dealing and neighborly friendship. He is survived by the son at whose home he died a second son, Immer Beadle having died in Ionia about a month ago. He also leaves one grandson, Justus Christensen, an employee of the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company here. Two daughters Mrs. Nina Christensen, Alma and Mrs. Leona Wright, San Francisco, and nine-grandchildren also survive. Burial was in Orleans cemetery.
