Beahan, of 303 Crescent, N.E., Grand Rapids, and for many years an Ionia resident, died last Saturday morning at her home after an illness of six months. She was 63. Mrs. Beahan is the wife of Patrick L. Beahan, Grand Rapids salesman, and mother of Rev. Hugh Michael Beahan, assistant pastor of St. James Church. She was born in Ovid and has been active in church activities most of her life. A resident of Grand Rapids for 15 years after moving there from Lowell, she also lived in Ionia for 43 years. Besides her husband and son, she is survived by a daughter, Marie, of Grand Rapids, two other sons, Robert of Cascade and Fred of Ionia; two brothers, Edward Haight, Jr., of Ionia, assistant Director of Corrections in Lansing, and Louis Haight of Detroit; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral mass was offered by her son, Rev. Beahan, at ten o’clock Tuesday morning in SS. Peter and Paul Church in Ionia. Assisting was Rev. Thomas Beahan of Farmington and Rev. Bernard Beahan of Sturgis, cousins. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, in Ionia. Pallbearers were Peter O’Connor, Ben Banhagel, John Hogan, Alfred Jannausch, Louis O’Connell and Joseph LePres. Thirty-two priests and five monsignors were in attendance at the funeral mass as a mark of respect to Mrs. Beahan because she was the mother of a priest.
